Cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, series and sizes. The majority are single row bearings with a cage. High-capacity bearings, single and double row full complement bearings (without a cage) complete the standard assortment listed in this catalogue.
1.Single row cylindrical roller bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads and high speeds. They are manufactured in several different designs, the main difference being in the configuration of the flanges. The most popular are the NU, N, NJ and NUP designs.
2.Double row cylindrical roller bearings mainly in the NNU design and the NN design(fig 2). The bearings are separable, i.e. the ring with integral flanges together with the roller and cage assemblies can be mounted separately from the other bearing ring or all bearing components can be mounted separately. This facilitates the mounting, inspection and maintenance of these bearings.
3.Four-row and six-row cylindrical roller bearings are used almost exclusively for the roll necks of rolling mill stands, calenders and roller presses. Their friction is low compared with other roller bearings. As they are normally mounted with an interference fit on the roll neck, they are particularly suitable for rolling mill applications where the rolling speed is high.
