Aerogel is a kind of nanometer porous material. The diameters of its pores are less than the average molecular free path of air, so there is no air convection in the pores. It has very high porosity and low proportion of solid substance. Thus it is regarded as the solid with lowest thermal conductivity in the world. By virtue of such low thermal conductivity and good high/low temperature thermal stability, it has great potential in various heat insulating and energy saving fields.

It is mainly used as light high-efficiency thermal insulation materials for aviation/aerospace vehicles, ships, LNG tank, refrigeration storage, high-temperature industrial furnace, thermal batteries, oil pipeline, building wall and window/door, and so on. In addition, it can be also used as acoustic insulation materials, carriers of catalysts, absorbent, electrode and the like.
It is synthesized by special technics, chooseing silicon aerogel of excellent property , functional materials of heat shield, adhesive and a variety of inorganic elements,in which ceramic fiber is adoted as reinforcing material.
