80L 140L CNG type 1 34CrMo4 steel cylinders are the most popular for CNG heavy duty trucks, CNG public buses and CNG luxury coaches.
To improve the weakness of heavy weight, type 1 CNG steel cylinders are usually used together with type 2 CNG glass fiber hoop-wrapped cylinders. For example, FAW CNG heavy trucks often carry 4pcs of 80L type 1 steel cylinder and 8pcs of 120L type 2 CNG composite cylinder with steel liner.

All of the steel tubes are completely custom-made according to our technical requirement, to ensure the best mechanical properties of the CNG cylinder
b. Cylinder bottom thickness measurement and UT detection
International standards only requires to do air-tightness test on cylinder bottom, but our internal QC system requires extra tests to measure cylinder bottom thickness and do UT detection, in order to eliminate any defective cylinder with tiny cracks or thinner wall at the bottom.
c. Wrinkle inspection
Neither international standards nor Chinese standards require to check wrinkles at cylinder neck and bottom area, but our experiences and experiments told us tiny cracks always exist under wrinkles, and crack is the root cause of cylinder leakage and explosion problems. We use endoscope to 100% inspect each cylinder, to eliminate all that to be found with wrinkles.
